Jacek Marszalek rebuilt a collapsing sewer inspection area in our garden in March 2 accessed014.  The job involved concrete shuttering for the inspection pit cover.  No one could have done the work any better than Mr Marszalek and I have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

Mr Marszalek refurbished a shower cubicle for me.  He replaced tiles with wetwall  installed a new shower,  new shower tray, new shower door and new extractor fan.  He painted the whole shower room and tidied up after the work.  I was very pleased with the result.

Mr Marsalek removed all the old paintwork from the fascia boards on our bungalow and replaced the paint with woodstain.  It was a dirty and difficult job,  but the result is terrific.  The old wood is in very good condition and will last a lot longer than upvc fascia boards.

We had damage to plasterboard due to water getting in to the ceiling.  Jacek Marszalek replaced the plasterboard and replastered till the ceiling was even.  The room had to be accessed via the dining room and hall which have light coloured carpets, and they are still in pristine condition!  Thank you.

regards   Helen

This is to advise on the work carried out on my house by Jacek Marszalek of Progress House. There were two projects that required work.
  • Fit a collapsible door in-between the living room and entrance hall
  • Repair to external door
The collapsible door had to be measured, obtained and then fitted to space available with span (width) over 2 meters. Quality of door selected and recommended by Jacek was first class. Preparation work for installation was neat and tidy. Installation of door was very efficient and quick. Clean up of job was very good.

Value for money on this project was excellent with very high quality of work performed. Very pleased with this installation and final appearance.

Repair to external door was done in very good order. Jacek removed the door and perform the necessary work in a very short space of time at a very high standard.

Well pleased with Jacek Marszalek’s work and would recommend him to others who are seeking a reliable service. Jacek is a cheerful and diligent worker. He is trust worthy and dependable. Sets and maintains a very high standard at a very good price.

I contacted Jack Marszalek through myhammer.co.uk in September of last year. He turned up on time, assessed the job and gave me a competative quote and also came with good rating on my hammer.

The initial job was to remove internal walls from the kitchen and restore the lowered ceiling to it's original height. Once this work was complete plaster the room where required, as it turned out we put a new ceiling in and Jack plastered the majority of the room. This took 3 weeks to complete and Jack was punctual and showed a comprehensive knowledge of the job and the engineering required. The removal of the 4 tonnes or so of rubble from the 3rd floor was made easy by the rigging of a pully system in the stair. A great innovation and showed me again Jack was experienced in dealing with difficult problems during the work. That initial stage of my project went very well with Jack and i was delighted with the work, in addition Jack needed to work around other contractors who were installing the new kitchen window but he showed flexibility and a very professional attitude which made the process very much easier for me. I really appreciated that.

Given the success of the first stage of my renovations i had no hesitation in asking Jack to complete the installation of 4 large velux windows on the upper floor of my flat. This was again a fair amount of work which required a good understanding of Scottish building regulations and good building practice in general and the work was completed on time and in budget.

To me a builder who delivers to the standard that Jack has and on time and in my budget is worth his weight in gold. In addition Jack was tollerant of my involvement in the planning and assisting (mainly labouring and assisting him) in order to keep a control of costs which was very much appreciated. This stage of my project was to install the 4 new velux windows, replacing 3 original smaller ones. This involved the removal of original tiling, rafters and roof sections and finishing at the point of plastering the newly formed bays. Finishing and painting was not included in the scope of this work.

I would highly recommend Jack to anyone who has building modification and development needs. My jobs were "relatively small" in building terms but I am confident Jack can achieve most things he sets his mind to.

Mike
